Christine (Matsen) Norberg, age 66 of Warsaw, formerly of Northfield, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, following an extended illness.
Christine Louise (Matsen) Norberg was born February 2, 1958, in Northfield, Minnesota, to Donald F. and Joyce L. (Falde) Matsen. She was raised in Northfield and attended Northfield Schools. In 1975, Christine married David McCorkell. Over the years Christine did in home daycare and worked as a housekeeper. Christine and David later divorced.
On August 14, 1981, Christine married Larry Norberg. After marriage they made their home in Northfield until moving to Warsaw in 2004. Christine worked in housekeeping and also worked for Etsy as a skilled jewelry maker. Following a stroke in 2021 her health declined.
Christine enjoyed crafts. She loved animals of all kinds, wild or domestic, and she always took time to make sure they were cared for. She was loving, funny and sometimes mischievous. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband Larry; her son David (Trista) McCorkell of Shoreview, MN; her grandsons Gabriel and Riley; her sister Barb (Greg) McCracken of Northfield; her step-daughter Jennifer Norberg of LaCrosse, WI; her sister-in-law Jan Norberg of Warsaw; her dog Zeus; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Scott McCorkell, her brother Donny Matsen, her step-son Donny Norberg and her parents.
A gathering to celebrate Christine’s life will be held from 3:00PM - 5:00PM, with a service at 5:00PM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield. Christine will be interred with her parents in Northfield Cemetery.
