Have I Got A Line For You!

Elon Musk says he “freed the bird” with his takeover of Twitter. He let 3,700 employees go, but promised to pay them until February. A lot of folks are outraged over this. Where was the outrage when President Biden cost thousands their jobs after he canceled the Keystone Pipeline? Oh that’s right, not “one of us,” they don’t count. Capitalism seems to be working though. A guy takes his money, buys floundering company and fires the deadwood. Now let’s see him turn the beast around. In the meantime, those Twitter employees who have worked from home since 2020 will collect full pay until February 2023 from home, followed by working for the government spying on people. The latter probably not from home.

Well, the President said, “There will be no more drilling” during a speech in Yonkers. Are we sure he was in Yonkers and not Bonkers? This is like building a new house, but tearing down the old one first. Not to worry, he acknowledged the economic setbacks oil workers face. He gave them some advice, “Learn to code.” UNBELIEVABLE!
What’s the mood of most Americans? I’d say just about fed up.

ROYAL NEWS! The title for Prince Harry’s new memoir has been revealed. It’s titled “Spare” and comes out January 10. You’d think being the spare, without the pressure of expectation to be King, while enjoying a privileged life would be a cushy number. Considering the Queen herself was the daughter of a “spare” I doubt he was overlooked. Anything could have happened. Bet it’s a gripping story of self-obsession, immaturity, jealousy and greed, or maybe not so gripping. “Overwhelming Sense of Entitlement” would have been a better title.

This just popped into my mind, Lord knows why. I remember when Grandma Murphy would tell me, “You’re wishing your life away.” On the other hand, we were all taught to “make a wish” when blowing out the candles on a birthday cake and to “make a wish upon a star.” However, when seeing a falling star it meant someone just died. Wonder where and when that one started? Another vagrant thought: I bet “Happy Birthday” is the most sung song in the world, with “Silent Night” not far behind on the list.
