Returning to the friendly confines of their home park, the Lincoln Lady Cardinals routed Smithton (with Otterville), 19-0 on Thursday in three innings.

The workhorse of their staff, having thrown every inning this season, Braylin Paxton pitched a three inning no-hitter striking out 8. She was also great at the plate, going 2 for 3 with three RBI's and 2 runs scored.

Lincoln scored 15 in the first, giving up the third out with a runner stepping off base to end the onslaught in a good show of sportsmanship.

The Lady Cards scored 4 more in the second. Lincoln had 19 hits and committed 2 errors. Smithton (0-4) committed 3 errors on the night.

Courtney Stephens went 3 for 3, driving in 2 with a triple and scored on an error on the play. The catcher, Lexi Dulaban went 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's and scored 3 times. Lincoln moved to 5-3 on the season.

On Tuesday, the Lady Cardinals played Stover at Versailles because of wet field conditions throughout the area. However, the turf wasn't ideal either as a puddle appeared on the mound in middle innings and the players couldn't wear cleats for traction. No outfield wall was put in place so it was a strange game all the way around.

Lincoln blew a 10-1 lead falling to 10-5 and 12-8 before a 5 run sixth gave the cushion for winning 18-13. Lincoln had 16 hits and 3 errors. Stover's line was 13-6-6.

Braylin Paxton allowed 6 earned runs over 7.0 innings striking out 16 batters. Paxton struggled late as she walked 7, hit 6 batters and was charged with 2 wild pitches.

Cadence Harvey hit a homerun that would have been out of most parks. Two other recorded homeruns by Alyssa Mellen and Courtney Stephens were hard hit shots but probably doubles and triples on other fields.

Lincoln moved to 5-3.
