Charles Leslie “Chuck” Wright, age 76, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024 at the Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born on September 11, 1947 in Seattle, Washington the son of TB and Nina (Willoughby) Wright.

Chuck served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on September 13, 1968. On April 1, 1967 he was united in marriage to Nadine Dutton at her mother’s home in Independence, Missouri. They made their home in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, later returning to Independence. In 1973 they came to Warsaw. Chuck was a heavy equipment contractor all his working life on projects all over the country, most notably the Truman Dam and the oil fields of Oklahoma.

He is a member of the Poplar Baptist Church, the VFW Post of Lincoln, Missouri, the VVA Post of Kansas City, Missouri and the Campers on Mission where he and Nadine served as missionaries across the country. He love to hunt, fish, and do woodworking and wood carving.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Richard A. Wright and Terry B. Wright.

Chuck is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Nadine, of the home, two children; Dawn Higbe and her husband Ed, of Kansas City, Missouri and Leslie Glen Wright and his wife Alisha, of Joplin, Missouri, two grandchildren; Cameron Higbe, of Kansas City and Kane Wright, of Joplin, three brothers; Harv Wright, of Independence, Missouri, Jack Wright, of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas and Clifford Wright, of Blue Eye, Missouri, numerous nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services for Chuck Wright will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the Poplar Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from noon until 1:00 P.M. Interment will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
