Cole Camp, Lincoln Claim Firsts At Junior High Tourneys
COLE CAMP defeated the Lady Cardinals 27-9 last Saturday afternoon to win the 11th Annual Lincoln Jr. High Tournament. The Lady Bluebirds defense held Lincoln to just three field goal attempts in the first quarter and lead 2-0 on made free throws by Kodi Dieckman and Kristian Karl. Lincoln finally scored in the last minute in the second quarter, compliments of Molly Strozewski to trail 9-2 at halftime. Cole Camp's Madilynn Ogle scored on an inbound pass at the buzzer to end the half. Cole Camp took over in the third jumping out to a 19-6 lead. The game was filled with turnovers but both teams played very hard and went after every loose ball and rebound. No trophies were awarded due to teams missing games due to cold and snowy weather conditions all week.
THE LINCOLN CARDINALS defeated the bigger Smithton team 36-28 last Saturday to take the 11th Annual Lincoln Jr. High Tournament championship. It was 5-5 after one, 17-13 at the half and 29-19 after three. Brooks Heimsoth had 14 to lead Lincoln to victory. Lincoln finished the tournament at 3-0.
