Hwys 65 & 54 To Delay For Resurfacing

Posted
Drivers can expect lane closures and occasional traffic delays on U.S. Routes 65 and 54 in Benton, Dallas and Hickory counties for a resurfacing project beginning the week of May 1, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
This is the work being done on this project:
Benton County – U.S. Route 65 southbound lanes from Benton/Pettis county line south approximately four (4) miles to a point north of Missouri Route 52 (Cole Camp Exit)
Benton County – U.S. Route 65 from the Osage River in Warsaw south approximately four (4) miles to Route MM
Benton County – U.S. Route 65 from Route MM near Warsaw south approximately eight (8) miles to Route AA
Hickory County – U.S. Route 54 from Route D (Main Street) in Preston east approximately eight (8) miles to a point west of Route BB
Dallas County – U.S. Route 65 from a point north of Missouri Route 32 south approximately one (1) mile to south Buffalo city limits
Benton, Hickory, Dallas counties – U.S. Route 65 from Benton County Route AA south approximately 34 miles to a point north of Missouri Route 32 in Buffalo
Also includes widening Route 65 to accommodate a southbound left turn lane at Victory Drive north of Buffalo
Contractor crews will add an overlay of new asphalt and permanent striping to the above routes.
Traffic impacts:
Traffic reduced to one lane where contractor crews are laying asphalt
Drivers will encounter flaggers and pilot cars where crews are working. Drivers should wait for the pilot vehicle before proceeding through the work zone or before entering the work zone from a side road.
Vehicles parked along these routes should be removed to allow the contractor to remove and replace the asphalt surface
Work will be done during daytime hours; all lanes open to traffic at night
No signed detour
Drivers should find alternate routes
Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zones
Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
Drivers are urged to use caution as they may experience a rough ride in areas until the resurfacing project is complete.
Weather and/or scheduling delays could alter the work schedule.
