Let's Celebrate! Mayor Simons Signs CTE Proclamation

Posted
To celebrate February as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, State Fair Community College held proclamation signings on Thursday, February 2 in the Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center with mayors from Sedalia, Cole Camp, Lincoln, and Warsaw.
Eddie Simons, Warsaw mayor, signed his proclamation with SFCC President Dr. Brent Bates and then visited with students and faculty outside the Precision Machining lab in the Howard Center.
The Association for Career and Technical Education’s Missouri Fact Sheet indicates the state’s workforce is experiencing a skills gap; 53% of Missouri jobs require post-secondary skills training but less than a four-year degree. Only 46% of Missouri workers are trained at that level.
CTE is good for students, for business and for communities.
