On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, Missouri Right to Life will host its annual “Keep Missouri Pro-Life” Action Day at the Missouri State Capitol, 1st Floor Rotunda, in Jefferson City. During the event, the public will have the opportunity to hear from prolife speakers, receive educational materials at numerous prolife organization booths, visit their legislators, and pray. The day opens at 10:00 a.m. with an opportunity to visit educational booths, register and receive materials from Missouri Right to Life on life-impacting legislation to share with their legislators, followed by a noon rally. The keynote speaker at the rally will be former Missouri State Representative and U.S. Congresswoman (CD-4) Vicky Hartzler who will speak on the topic of adoption.
“We celebrate that the U.S. Supreme Court held that the Constitution does not confer a right to abortion and overruled Roe and Casey. With the authority to regulate abortion returned to the people and their elected representatives, it is now more important than ever for the people to advocate to protect the right to life at the state level,” said Susan Klein, Executive Director, Missouri Right to Life.
“In addition, the latest statistics indicate that chemical abortions account for more than 53% of abortions in America,” said Klein. “With the abortion industry actively promoting the online sale and shipping of foreign abortion pills from remote prescribers in other states or countries, it is vital that we take action to protect women and their unborn babies from these dangerous drugs,” she said.
This year, Missouri Right to Life is championing more than a dozen areas of priority legislation, including:
A statutory ban on the public funding of abortion
A ban on public funding of travel for abortions
A ban on referral for abortions on publicly-funded university campuses
The protection of women and unborn babies in Missouri from abortion drugs being shipped into the state
Legislation making adoption more available and affordable; and
A statutory ban on the public funding of unethical research in Missouri
Public transportation is available from many areas of the state.
