Blackhawks Devour Cards To Remain Unblemished

The Lincoln Cardinals, still shorthanded even after picking up some extra players from their student body, traveled to Adrian on Friday night.
The Blackhawks, even without their starting QB, ran over Lincoln 48-8 to remain undefeated at 5-0.
It was 14-0 after one, 21-8 at half, 34-8 after three and 48-8 after the final horn sounded.
The bright moments for Lincoln came in a TD pass from sophomore QB Riley Sanders to Cam Everhart and the PAT pass to Dawson Parrott in the second quarter.
It was all Adrian after that. They had 359 total yards and 16 pancake blocks.
Sanders ended up 5 of 10 for 77 yards with 3 INT's.
The good news was that there were no new  injuries to an already banged up 14 man squad. The Cardinals will have the week off  and will play Cole Camp the following week. With a few returning players from the DL and the new players, Lincoln should have 21 or so athletes ready to play against their arch rivals.
The week off came as Slater went to eight man and Lincoln, in a rebuilding season, chose not to add anyone.
Head Coach Brad Drehle commented on the game, "I felt like our kids competed and took a step forward. We played a little more physical than we have and played extremely hard. I am proud of the way our kids handled themselves. We obviously have things to correct but with the attitude and effort we played with, we will get better."
Lincoln fell to 1-4.
