Have I Got A Line For You!

Posted
Monday was the 22nd anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Seems like a long time ago, but it really wasn’t, though there’s a whole generation who have no memory of it. For many of us, it’s a date we remember “where we were.” This event should be required in EVERY civics class in EVERY high school in America, otherwise history is doomed to repeat itself. I was in Dallas attending a meeting downtown and had the TV on while getting ready. There was a story about Gary Conditt, the Congressman accused of killing a girl names Chandra Levy. While listening to Gary’s latest problem a bulletin came across…”A plane has crashed into one of the World Trade Center buildings”….then another one.
Wonder if our open border policy has set us up, God forbid for another attack? A Texas judge just order the removal of a 100ft inflatable Rio Grande barrier stating, “The buoy is a threat to safety.” UNBELIEVABLE! The only danger is to someone breaking the law. Meanwhile we continue to erase and change American history, warts and all, by tearing down statues, renaming schools and coming up with new holidays to honor rioters.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS! Roman swords in almost mind condition were discovered in a Dead Sea cave last week. They date back 1,900 years. Fascinating to think about “Who” they belonged to and how they ended up there. I remember several years ago when a large amount of Roman weapons dating back to 100 BC were found in a Spanish settlement. Romans rampaged Spain in what is now France where they killed thousands of Gauls and Julius Caesar enslaved thousands more. From ancient times to modern, Europe’s land is covered with blood from one end to the other and I’m surprised there haven’t been calls for taking down statues of Caesar over this. Ah well, human history is full of mystery, compassion, love and violence.

Speaking of mystery and violence, a Secret Service Agent who witnessed President Kennedy’s assassination has come forward with new information. Paul Landis says he found another bullet and believes it struck the President in the back, disputing the “Magic bullet theory.”   I still find it odd that everyone chooses to ignore the CIA’s possible hand in all of this, President Kennedy hated them and they disliked him, especially after he said he was going to, “Break up the CIA and scatter it to the wind.” Meanwhile, we are supposed to go on thinking that one bullet did all the damage, pin-balled around in the car and landed on Governor Connally’s gurney. What really happened? We’ll probably never know, but what does it matter now? We can’t go back and undo it.
