Have I Got A Line For You!

President Biden is back to his “My way or the highway,” approach after the Supreme Court said “No” to student loan forgiveness. The Prez says he’ll, “Find another way.” Pay your fair share…. isn’t that what President Biden preaches? Well, suck it up buttercup, three plus years of not paying your loan and no interest is a pretty good deal. What has become of America where we have a generation of students who think it’s OK to take out loans and then demand someone else pay for them? UNBELIEVABLE!

Clinton and Warsaw are blessed with expanding airports. Yesterday I came across an article on the “Old Clinton Airport.” It was just west of “Old Highway 13.” A  crowd assembled there to celebrate Air Mail Week in 1936. A big red WACO mail plane flown by B.P. Vlast of Kansas City landed around 2:20 PM, a bit late due to a storm. Among the waiting crowd were R.N. Eidson and Highway Patrolman E.E. Burnham. C.J. Keil was there too. Mr. Keil remarked that he had witnessed the mail being brought into Clinton by stagecoach and then by railroad and he didn’t want to miss the first airmail there. “What next will it be?” he asked friends in the crowd. What next indeed.

Traveled to Cousin Craig Bourne’s for the 4th of July. During dinner, conversation that was a bit different popped up. One of Craig’s guests said we were a lucky group, because we were supping with two people told years ago they wouldn’t live much longer. I thought about that statement on the drive back to Warsaw. One had undergone a heart transplant and the other was given a dark prognosis for a cancerous tumor. They’re still alive and vigorously kicking. Modern medicine, prayer and positivity can bring about wonders. Though it doesn’t always work the way we want it to.  I’m convinced we’re each handed a life span to interact in other lives and then go. It’s just the method of departure usually isn’t one we’d choose. All part of the grand plan for the universe, isn’t it? People in many parts of the world believe in reincarnation. If we don’t learn the lessons of life this go around we have to come back and try again. Reincarnation isn’t coming back as a dog, ant or cow in the field, that’s transmigration. I’ve never been sure what to make of all that. I do know this.  Most of us have done things that we deeply regret and wish we’d handled differently. No use brooding on it though.  Just rectify it as best you can and move on. Forgive yourself warts and all and do the same for others.

Time to wrap this up, but first, here’s something to ponder. How did we ever live without bottled water? We did though, and here we are.
