Many things in the news are worrisome these days, but around here a lot of nice things are happening. Jubilee Days in Warsaw gets underway this week, Flag Day is June 18, the first day of summer is June 21 and Olde Glory Days in Clinton begins on June 29. The Strawberry Moon flew on the 4th and is still visible in the sky. Absolutely brilliant! It’s named for the Algonquin Tribes who used it as a signal to gather ripening fruit. That same moon makes the Osage River fordable at night, once for steamboats and now for evening fisherman and pontoon parties.
Speaking of parties, let’s get back to Jubilee Days. This time of year I’m always reminded of Jubilee Days Ham. It’s included in a cookbook by the late Esther Bibb and her son Rick. The instructions were put together by Jubilee volunteers Rick Bibb, Steve Noland, Larry Tevis, Dave Williams and Durward Wishard. Events like this nurture friendships. Jubilee Days Ham is proof of that.

Well, well, well. FBI Director Christopher Ray still hasn’t complied with a subpoena for a document that supposedly links the President and his family to influence peddling. This is the same FBI that used unverified information to cause the surveillance of an AMERICAN citizen because he was a political opponent. Remember when one of President Trump’s advisors didn’t comply with the January 6 Committee? The FBI arrested him at the airport, handcuffed him and placed him in solitary confinement. What do those foreign companies pay Biden Family LLC’s for? They don’t sell anything tangible or make anything……except the currency of influence. Nothing will come of this and no one will be punished. General Milly is the perfect example. He promised China that he would call if President Trump planned an attack. Isn’t that treason? This bunch has taken over where the former Soviet Union left off.

Enough of this! Keep an eye out though, Lord knows what craziness is going to happen next. Meanwhile, let’s give thanks that our world still has nice things in it like Jubilee Days, Old Glory Days and night skies with a Strawberry Moon. You bet! Take care of yourself old buddy.
