Lincoln Upsets Bluebirds In Kaysinger Conference Tournament

The fifth seeded Cole Camp Bluebirds defeated fourth seeded Lincoln 2-1 on Saturday in the Kaysinger Conference tournament in Lincoln.
The 2023 baseball season may be remembered as one of the most windy seasons in recent years as the case for Global Warming couldn't have been proved on April 22, in downtown Lincoln, Missouri.
The two rivals both threw their ace pitchers in junior Gentry Dieckman for Cole Camp and Senior Connor Lynde for Lincoln.
Dieckman, batting clean up, drove in Reid in the third with a double and in the fifth with a single for both of the Bluebirds runs. 
Cam Everhart, Lincoln's clean up hitter drove in Dawson Parrott in the seventh with a fielder's choice.
With runners in scoring position, Blake Lyon hit a soft liner to third in the end the game.
Three defensive plays highlighted the low scoring pitching duel. Cam Everheart , with two outs and runners in scoring position popped up to catcher Grady Strathman at home plate on a high wind twisting pop up.
Lincoln's third baseman Hunter Vandaveer threw out Dylan DeCroy at home on a ball hit to shallow left field in the fifth.
Lincoln's catcher Zaden Cole made a good catch against the screen in the sixth inning.
Lynde went six innings, struck out eight and walked three.
Lyon came in for the seventh to hold Cole Camp in check.
Dieckman went 6.2 with nine strikeouts and walked five. Kolby  Bohen came in to get Lyon to end the contest.
Dawson Parrott went 3-4. Dieckman 2-3.
The game was not without controversy. The pitch count is 105 .Dieckman had 103 for Cole Camp books and 109 according to Lincoln's records. The home team won out but Bohen getting Lyon made it a mute point.
Cole Camp moved to 8-10 on the season.
On Thursday, Cole Camp beat Sacred Heart on a bases loaded walk in the ninth for a 4-3 victory in Sedalia.
They beat Smithton 6-5 on Tuesday and lost 7-2 on Monday to Skyline.
