Dennis James Meisel, age 63, of Lincoln, Missouri passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 25, 1961 in Paola, Kansas, the son of Lucky Lindy Leroy Meisel and Dorothy Jean (Spaulding) Meisel.
Dennis grew up in Paola and graduated from Paola High School. He went on work for Hillsdale Lake near Kansas City and later as a union carpenter in downtown Kansas City. In the late 1980’s, he moved to Warsaw to be close to his parents and later cared for his mother after his father’s passing.
Dennis worked for many years as a bartender at the Benton House and was also employed as a carpenter with Charlie Bristow Construction. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw, where he found his faith and was saved. Dennis also served as the President of the local Narcotics Anonymous chapter and was a court advocate for many individuals in recovery.
An avid Harley Davidson rider, Dennis found joy on the open road. He was also a skilled and enthusiastic bowler. In his quieter moments, Dennis enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and amassed a large collection over the years. Dennis also enjoyed white water rafting in Colorado, and his church trips to Peru and Machu Picchu.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Bobby Meisel, who passed at the age of 7 when he fell through ice on the River.
He is survived by his wife, Danisha Meisel, of the home; his son, Josh Meisel and his wife, Destiny, of McLouth, Kansas; a sister, Sherry Snyder and her husband, Bill, of Paola, Kansas; a brother, Fred Meisel and his wife, Linda, of LaCygne, Kansas; and six grandchildren: Dakota, Elzy, Madison, Mya, Zander, and Cody.
He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church in Warsaw, with Pastor Loren Whetsell officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
