John Spencer Carter, age 84, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at his home.

He was born on July 18, 1940 in Plainsfield, Indiana, the son of George and Artonia (Johnson) Carter. He grew up in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and on September 21, 1962 he was united in marriage to Donna Golden. They made their home in Lee’s Summit, Raytown and Kansas City where John was employed for Yellow Freight as a mechanic. He retired from Yellow Freight after thirty years of employment and moved to Warsaw.

John was a member of the Ararat Shrine and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the East Gate Lodge No. 630 AF & AM in Kansas City, Missouri, the Order of the Eastern Star #329 in Independence, Missouri and served as Governor of the Missouri Moose Association. In his spare time, he loved to build hot rots and is the proud owner of a 1952 Studebaker, which took first place in 2024 at the American Legion Car Show.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sons; John S. Carter, Jr. and Johnny Kapp, four sisters; Georgeanne Carter, Jeanie Huke, Gay Brown and Kay White, a brother, James L. Carter, two grandsons, Jessep Carter and Corey Dean Carter and a great granddaughter, Madison Isackson.

John is survived by his wife, Donna Carter, of the home, two daughters, Johna Isackson and her husband Dean, of Lone Jack, Missouri and Johneen Robinson and her husband Paul, of Warsaw, Missouri, a son, John Carter, of Raytown, Missouri, a brother, Curtis Carter and his wife Teri, of Oak Grove, Missouri, a grandson, Spencer Isackson, four granddaughters, Jessinda Schuenemann, Johnny D Carter, Brandy Parker and Crystal Taylor, five great grandsons; Maxxus Jon Carter, Hudson M. Schuenemann, Austin Parker, Tommy Parker and Christian Parker, seven great granddaughters; Tayla Carter, Candra Carter, Presleigh Carter, Callie Schenemann, Savannah Schenemann, Enjlei Graham and Logan Bradley, numerous other relatives and many friends.
