Luverne James McNamara, lovingly known as "Mac," passed away on Wednesday, January 29 due to complications from COPD. Born on July 25, 1940, in LeRoy, North Dakota, he was the cherished son of Alberta (Doyle) and Raymond McNamara.

Mac grew up in Leroy and attended school in Bathgate, North Dakota. In October 1958, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving his country with honor until his discharge in 1962.

In 1963, Mac married Phyllis (Quinnell) McNamara of Neche, ND, and together they welcomed their son, Curtis Lee McNamara. Later in life, Mac found love again and married Betty (McKay) McNamara on August 26, 1982. The couple shared a life filled with adventure, residing in Waldorf, Maryland; Roswell, New Mexico; Rockton, Illinois; and eventually retiring in Warsaw, Missouri.

Mac’s professional journey included working for Boeing in Seattle from 1968 to 1970 as part of the historic rollout crew for the first-ever Boeing 747. He later dedicated 42 years to Motor Coach Industries in Pembina, North Dakota.

A man of many talents and passions, Mac loved exploring the country in his RV, playing golf and fixing anything that needed repair. Known for his ingenuity and practical wisdom, he was a natural teacher of common sense. Animals held a special place in his heart, and his quick wit and kind spirit endeared him to all who knew him.
