Dorma Jean Lutjen, age, 72 passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp, Missouri. She was born April 14th, 1950 at Dr. Sally's office across from the old jail in Warsaw, MO. The daughter of Edwin and Wyonetta (Burnett) Lutjen. She had one brother, Farand Lutjen.
Growing up, she went to school at Feaster School; a one room school house, which during her 8 years there, she only had two different teachers. After graduating 8th grade, she went to Warsaw High School for two years. Her family moved ½ a mile down the road then she had to finish her last two years at Cole Camp High School, where she graduated. In 1968, Dorma went to work for the MFA Exchange in Warsaw for 14 years until they closed. She then went to work at the court house for Assessor Glenn Coffey for 34 years, until she retired.
There were many activities she enjoyed such as oil painting, reading, traveling with her family and circle of friends. Dorma belonged to 4H, Poplar Baptist Church, and the Benton County Republican Committee as a Committee woman and many other organizations.
She felt fortunate to have such good friends and family who visited her often. She was recently asked for words of wisdom where she replied “Always speak the truth. Do the best you can on the job and keep family and friends close”, which she did till her last breath.
Dorma is survived by a niece, Amanda Lutjen, a nephew, Zach (Mindy) Lutjen, both of Lincoln, Missouri, a sister-in-law, Lovyna Lutjen of Warsaw, Missouri and an aunt, Rosetta Stocking of Aurora, Colorado, great nieces, and great nephews; Shelby Lutjen, Veda Lutjen, Maverick Lutjen, Hazel Lutjen and Holdyn Pilant, numerous relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for Dorma Jean Lutjen will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 20, 2023 at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw, Missouri. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Warsaw, Missouri.
