Douglas L. Honn

Douglas L. Honn, age 88, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Good Shepard Care Center in Versailles, Missouri.  He was born on March 21, 1935 in Ottawa, Kansas the son of George and Cecil Honn.  Doug grew up in Richmond, Missouri and graduated from Richmond High School in 1954.  
 
The day after his graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving four years and two additional years in the Naval Reserves.  He also served thirteen years in the Air National Guard.  Doug was employed for TWA as a lead inspector in Kansas City.  He spent one year in Saudi Arabia at the Kings Airport and one year for Value Jet in Atlanta.  In his retirement he delivered boats for the Pro’s Choice Marine all over the country.
 
Doug was united in marriage to Dorothy Layson on February 14, 1959 in Kansas City, Missouri.  Unto this union three children were born; Cheryl Miller (Merv) of Independence, Missouri, Doug Honn II (Nancy) of Cameron, Missouri and Leo Honn of Freeman, South Dakota.  
 
Doug was a Christian man and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Warsaw, serving on the financial committee, Awanas, as an usher and helped in various other capacities as needed.
 
He is survived by his wife, three children, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
 
Memorial Services will be held by the family at a later date.  Arrangements for his cremation are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
