Harvey Edmund Duy, age 92, left this life on Monday, September 25, 2023. Born on August 21, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas. Harv worked at Wolferman's Bakery, served his country during the Korean War in the United States Navy, where he started his entrepreneurial career by selling popcorn to his shipmates. After his discharge from the military, Harv attended college at what is now called UMKC, where he studied accounting.
During an internship with AO American Optical, Harv moved into sales which became his lifelong career. He became a Mason and then a Shriner. After retirement, Harv enjoyed gardening, playing Pitch and Checkers, and spending time with family and friends. An avid gardener who shared the traits of his garden with many;;;the money raised from selling tomatoes, peppers and okra he would then match and donate to Benton County Hospice.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Stephen, two daughters; Connie and Vicky and his brothers. Harv is survived by his current wife, Jeannie and daughter, Cindy Sue.
Church Services with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Warsaw Christian Church, 320 State Street, Warsaw, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Shriners Burn Hospital.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Missouri.
