James E. Henson

James E. Henson, age 83, of Warsaw, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023.  He was born on February 19, 1940 in Laclede County, Missouri the son of Lawrence Henson and Juanita (Cansler) Henson.  
On November 21, 1959 he was united in marriage to Patsy Gale Richardson.  Following their marriage they made their home at U.S. Army installations in the state of Washington and the territory of Hawaii.  Following his honorable discharge they returned to Missouri and lived in the Kansas City area until moving to Oak Grove in 1973 and then to Warsaw in 1995.  Jim was employed as a steel worker for Union Wire Rope, a division of Armco Steel for more than twenty years.  He served on the volunteer fire department in Oak Grove and the Cole Camp Ambulance District for many years.  He attended the First Baptist Church in Warsaw.  He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Jim loved to fish, hunt and tell stories at most any opportunity. 
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Juanita Henson, his wife Patsy, a sister, Judy Jones and a brother Paul Henson.  
Jim is survived by two children; Alan Henson, and his wife Ann, of Independence, Missouri and Karla Patenburg, and her husband Patrick, of Blue Springs, Missouri, five grandchildren, Lea Akert, and her husband Rob, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Niki Henegar, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Tiffany Holt, and her husband Craig, of Independence, Missouri, Andrew Henson, and his wife Danielle, of Warrensburg, Missouri and Samuel Henson, of Warrensburg, Missouri, nine great- grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services for James E. Henson will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M.  Interment and Military Rites will follow the funeral at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital c/o the Reser Funeral Home.
