Michael G. Taylor

Michael Guy Taylor left this earth to be with his heavenly father Wednesday, September 13, 2023.  Born on January 13, 1951 in San Francisco, California, he graduated from Burlingame High School.
Mike loved to wrench on cars, trucks and anything else he could find.  He was an avid skier, both snow and water.  He began his work life as a carpenter and became a California licensed "B" General Contractor; starting his own business, MTI Inc., which was known for quality work.
His proudest productions were daughter Amy and Grandson Charlie and daughter Courtney and Grandson Al.  Mike married Lonnie Gandara, who survives of the home.  They lived in Sonoma for several years before deciding to leave California to relocate to Saint Joseph, Missouri where Lonnie had family.
After a major house fire, they decided to move to the Ozarks and chose Benton County.  Mike loved Benton County, often observing that in California, it you fall down someone would either kick you or step over you.  In Benton County you were offered a hand up.
Mike and Lonnie joined Evening Shade Mennonite Church and love their church family, who helped them through this trying time.
Mike was humbled that he was accepted by the community even though he "wasn't from here".  He started Mike's Custom Bobcat and loved his work.  He eventually sold his business to another man named Mike Taylor, which was a cause for many chuckles.
Mike was honest, kind, friendly and he will be missed.
Memorial Services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.
