Nicholas L. Smith

Nicholas "Nick" Luther Smith was born in Warsaw, Missouri on December 16, 1947 to Luther "Owen" Smith and Roxie Louise (Dolan) Smith.  He left this life on April 21, 2023 from the comfort of his home with his living wife Joan, by his side.
Nick was a lifelong resident of the Warsaw area graduating from Warsaw High School, Class of 1965.  He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1972 stationed in Germany. 
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Phillip Owen Smith, Gary Wayne Smith and William Roney Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife Joan, of the home, one daughter, Sabrina Jones, one stepson, David Philbrick, one stepdaughter, Stacy Townsend, a sister, Jacque Faulkner, two grandsons, Levi Riley and Zachary Jones, one nephew, Jason Faulkner and 2 nieces, Courtney Farley and Kyla Schraier.
Nick was a lifelong member of St. Ann's Catholic Church; having served mass there for many years in his youth.  He was a gifted carpenter and spent most of his young life working at this trade with his "best friend" who was also his father, their skills are still evident around Warsaw today.  Nick worked for Wal-Mart as a department manage for a number of years before purchasing Nix Bar in downtown Warsaw.  He sold this business and retired in Warsaw.
Nick loved his family, his community, his country and legion of friends.  He enjoyed playing pool and traveling far and wide to attend NASCAR races.  Nick was a life long learner and amazed many with his vast knowledge and incredible memory!  He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends.
The family wished to thank Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare Cancer Center, The Veterans Administration Medical Community and Good Shepherd Hospice for their wonderful care during this journey.
Nick requested arrangements for cremation and no services at this time.
