Simon Eugene Cartee, 36, of Warsaw, MO, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Marshall Bow Hunters and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com
Born November 16, 1986, in Sedalia, he was the son of Rickey Lane Cartee and Debbie Jackson Cartee. Simon lived in Marshall growing up and graduated from Marshall High School in 2005 where he was a member of FFA, as well as being a member of Town & Country 4-H. After high school he attended Tulsa Welding School and used his degree to work at Duke Manufacturing in Sedalia for many years. Simon was an avid bow hunter, was a member of Marshall Bow Hunters and attended many Archery Shooters Association bow tournaments. He loved fishing which led to family fish fry’s he enjoyed, and just anything outdoors. One of the things that Simon will be remembered for are his first words at any function, “How long is this shin-dig gonna last?”
In addition to his parents, Rickey and Debbie of Warsaw; he is survived by two sons, Conner Ragan and Reed Cartee; three sisters: Renita Winfrey of Marshall, Robyn Griffitt (Gary) of Ackworth, IA and Samantha Malan (T.C.) of Marshall; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Simon was preceded in death by his grandparents: Warner and Donna Perkins and Taylor and Anita Cartee.
